3 Reasons to Try Home Up on Your Samsung: Widgets, Direct Share, and Edge Panel (2026)

3 reasons why you should try Home Up's latest upgrades on your Samsung Galaxy

When Samsung releases new versions of One UI, it often causes some of the Good Lock modules I rely on to malfunction. The One UI 8.5 beta is no exception, as several Good Lock modules, including Home Up, have been incompatible since the beta launch. Home Up, a module that lets you customize your home screen and overview menu, has received a recent update that not only fixes compatibility issues with the latest One UI version but also introduces new features that enhance the user experience.

Here are three reasons why you should consider upgrading Home Up on your Samsung Galaxy:

  1. Widget Resize: Home Up now supports resizing app icons, and this update extends the same functionality to widgets. This is particularly useful for those who prefer a smaller screen zoom, as it ensures that widgets, including Google's search bar, scale correctly and appear larger. The new 'Widget Setting' menu allows you to adjust widget scaling on the home screen, addressing the issue of tiny widgets.

  2. Direct Share Exclusions: The Direct Share feature, part of the One UI share menu, suggests contacts for sharing. However, it often fails to suggest the right person. Home Up's update introduces an exclusion list, allowing you to block specific chats and share targets from appearing, ensuring a more personalized and efficient sharing experience.

  3. Edge Panel Tweaks: The Edge Panel, a multitasking tool, has received quality-of-life improvements. Home Up's 'Integrated Panel' toggle combines apps, shortcuts, and contacts into a single Edge Panel, making setup and navigation more straightforward. This feature is especially useful for those who find the separate panels in the Edge Panel settings cumbersome.

Additionally, the update includes an option to adjust the width of the touch area for the Edge Panel, ensuring a more comfortable and precise experience, even with cases that add a lip around the screen.

With these upgrades, One UI 8.5 is becoming one of my favorite versions of Samsung's Android skin. I encourage you to explore the new features and share your thoughts in the comments. What are your thoughts on the latest Good Lock modules and their impact on your Samsung Galaxy experience?
