Early Friday morning, the staff discovered that acid had been sprayed on the tables, walls, and floor overnight, rendering the crockery, cutlery, and glasses unusable. This act of vandalism not only caused physical damage but also raised concerns about the safety of the restaurant's patrons. The Paris Fire Brigade's nuclear, radiological, biological, and chemical unit was deployed, and technicians from the Central Laboratory of the Police Prefecture analyzed the liquid. The prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into the damage, treating it as a hate crime motivated by race, ethnicity, nationality, or religion, which is punishable by up to 15 years' imprisonment and a €150,000 fine. This incident is particularly concerning as the restaurant has a history of being targeted by acid attacks on its facade on two previous occasions. The most recent attack occurred on October 9, 2025, but the investigation was closed due to the failure to identify the perpetrators.
