The Complete List Of German Car Brands & Their Logos

Few other countries have the rich automotive history of Germany and its automotive brands. Germany’s automotive industry started, well, at the very beginning. The petrol-engined automobile was invented in Germany in 1870 by Nikolaus Otto and his partner Karl Benz. They invented a four-stroke internal combustion engine together and so Germany joined the new automotive industry. By 1901, about 900 cars were being produced annually in Germany.

Germany has one of the largest automotive industries and workforces in Europe and is not far behind the US and China worldwide.

Germany’s luxury car makers were awarded three of six World Car Awards in 2018 and, after over a century in the business, they still dominate the global market.

Germany is famous for the high-performance and high-quality sports cars made by Porsche, and the cars of Mercedes, BMW and Audi are famous for their quality and technological innovation.

These mechanical engineers heavily influenced Germany’s foray into the automotive market. Germany was producing approximately 900 cars by the year 1901 which is pretty impressive considering the automobile was only invented in 1885.
