Instead of referring to a hard copy of your employment letter whenever you want to check a clause, you can view your labour card in the UAE online via the MOHRE (Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation) portal. Here is the complete procedure explaining how to check your UAE labour contract online. Please remember that your labour card is also known as a work permit.
What is a UAE Labour Card?
The UAE labour card (or UAE labor card) is an essential document that allows you to work in the United Arab Emirates. It is also called a UAE work permit. Employees must carry this card and ensure that all the information on the card is up-to-date and correct. The card is required for payroll and other employee benefits. The work permit in the UAE will generally include the following information:
- Employee’s name
- Profession
- Employer/Company name
- Employee’s Nationality
- UAE labour card expiry date
- Personal identification number of the employee
- UAE labour card number
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR A UAE LABOUR CARD?
If you are working in the public or private sector in the United Arab Emirates, you’ll be required to have a UAE labour card.

- Age should be 18 years old or above but not older than 60 years old.

- Issue UAE Labor Cards within 60 days of employee arrival. Delaying this process incurs fines and legal repercussions.
HOW TO CHECK YOUR UAE LABOUR CARD ONLINE
Earlier, you could check labour card status online on MOL’s (Ministry of Labour) website, but it has been replaced by MOHRE, and the process has become much easier.
The process to check your UAE labour contract online requires a few simple steps that you need to follow.
- You can check your labour card via the MOHRE website.
- Click the “Services” tab on the MOHRE website and then click on New “Enquiry Services.”
- Select “Print Electronic Work Permit.”
- Enter your details.
- Once the system locates your information, it will direct you to the next page, where you can view your UAE work contract online.
CHECK YOUR UAE LABOUR CARD ONLINE VIA MOHRE APP
Wondering how to check your UAE labour contract online using the MOHRE app? Here is a list of simple steps that will help you do it.
- Register yourself on the app.
- Once you receive the registration confirmation email or SMS, log in to your account on the app.

Wondering how to check labour card status online in the UAE? You can do so via the UAE Pass App as well. The first step of the process is to register on the UAE Pass. Then using the app:
- Go to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation and tap on Labour Card.
- All sections will be auto-filled if you have filled in the details earlier. If not, you can enter data such as Emirates ID or other information required.
- After completing the process, you can view your labour card in the documents section.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD YOUR UAE LABOUR CARD?
The UAE has transitioned to a digital system, so physical UAE labour cards are no longer issued. Instead, you can download your cards from the MOHRE official website with a few simple steps:
- Visit the official MOHRE website and go to Services.
- Click “Services” and Select “New Enquiry Services” from the drop-down menu
- Enter your UAE labour card number on the ‘Work Permit No’ tab, and click on search.
- Choose “Print Electronic Work Permit”.
- Click “Print” to download and print your card.

I would like to ask and to clarify my situation due to COVID 19 PANDEMIC, i applied and hired last January 14,2020 and i was cancelled my previous company last January 28,2020. The new company applies labour card and shown in my MOHRE account my contract, and labour id, but showing expiry May 21,2020. Am i legal to stay here in uae? As we agreed before that they will pay all my penalties due to their delay of processing. I am confused what i am going to do with my legal papers because of the situation now.
