IIT Placements 2023-24commenced for the top IITs onDecember 1, 2023, with crore-plus offers from trading and investment firms. As ofnow,IIT Kharagpur has bagged over 700 offers with 6 offers of more than INR 1 crore per annum. AtIIT Delhi1,050 students have been placed intop firms while 989 offers have been made at IIT Kanpur. With atotal of 1,340 job offers made toIIT Bombay graduates, 22students managed to securelucrative salary packages of above INR 1 crore per annum.

Top IITPlacements

IIT Madras Placements

IIT Madras has concluded Phase 1 of its placement drive 2023-24 and as per the reports, approximately 50% of the students from the institute have already been recruited by top MNCs and recruiters, including Amazon, EY, JP Morgan, TCS, Bajaj Auto Limited, Adobe and so on. Over 55% of the recruited candidates are from the economically backward classes. IIT Madras has also witnessed an increase of nearly 19% as far asinternship opportunities are concerned. The median salary offered was over INR 19 Lakhs while the highest package received byB. Tech and M. Tech students were INR 1.31 CPA and INR 54.21 LPA respectively. The highest package offered to a PhD student during the IIT Madras Phase 1 Placement 2023-24 was INR 35.89 LPA.

IIT Kharagpur Placements

Phase I of the IIT Kharagpur 2023-24 placement process started on December 1 with all the students participating physically. After the first day of recruitment, students at IIT Kharagpur were offered 771 placements by over 61 companies for various roles, including core engineering, banking and finance, software, consulting and so on. Microsoft, Google, Databricks, Apple, etc. emerged as the top recruiters.More than 121 profiles were opened for the students receiving over 19 international offers. On Day 1 of the placement drive, 6 students were offered an annual package of over INR 1 Crore.

The second phase of IIT Kharagpur placement is ongoing from the first week of January2024till the end of April 2024.

IIT Delhi Placements

The IIT Delhi's class of 2024 has received 1,050 job offers in the first phase of placements. 20 international firms from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the USA, and the Netherlands have made 50 job offers out of the total 1050 job offers.Reportedly, 370 international and domestic companies registered during IIT Delhi placements 2023-24. Over 660 job profiles across various sectors were presented during Phase I of IIT Delhi placements 2023-24. 25. The second round of IIT Delhi placements will start in mid January 2024. Students from IIT Delhi have received direct international job offers in countries, likeSingapore, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, South Korea, Japan, the United States, and the UK.The higher-value packages offered during IIT Delhi placements 2023-24 have not yet been disclosed. However, the expected average salary of the students after placement will vary between INR 60 Lakh and INR 70 Lakh; the highest package will be tentatively around INR 1.5 Crores.

IIT Bombay Placements

IIT Bombay saw 4 students bagging crore-plus offers from Samsung, Korea. 20+ students got placed with Qualcomm for diverse job roles with an average salary package ranging from INR 60 Lakh to INR 80 Lakh. A total of 193 students received placements this year, which is significantly higher as compared to 183 placements last year. The IIT Bombay round 2 placements will begin soon.A total of 25 students received offers worth more than Rs 1 crore last year. Students accepted 1224 offers out of the total, including 63 international offers (a total of 71 international offers were given).

IIT Kanpur Placements

The IIT Kanpur2023-24 placement for the first round has ended successfully, with a total of 989 offers, including 22 international offers. Among these, 913 students have received employment, including those with Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs), demonstrating the institute's dedication to providing great career possibilities despite changing market conditions. The top recruiters for the IIT Kanpur 2023-24 placement drive included Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, and Navi.The average salary of IIT Kanpur graduates is excellent, with an amazing Rs 26.27 LPA (lakh per annum), demonstrating the high level of this graduating talent. When compared to 2022, the top domestic package for 2023 grew by over 58%.33 students got placed for INR 1 Crore across both national and international organizations. The highest domestic package stood at INR 1.9 Crore.

IIT Guwahati Placements

According to the placement report released by IIT Guwahati, thehighest international package is that ofINR 2.4 CPA,and thehighest domestic package is ofINR 1.2 CPA. A total of246major companies fromIT/Software, Finance, and Non-Tech Profile sectorsreceived the most placements, followed by theCore Engineering, Design, and Education sectors. The percentage of companies with an overall placement rate of 78.04% showed approximately an increase of 37%. With aplacement rateof 89.66%,MDeshad the highest placement rate amongst all programs.Some of the top recruiters comprised HPCL, Navi, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Schlumberger, Piramal, TVS R&D, GAIL, etc.

IIT Roorkee Placements

During IIT Roorkee 2024 phase-1 placements, 23 international offers were made out of a total of 802 offers. Databricks gave a student a salary package worth INR 2.05 crore per annum during the first round of IIT Roorkee placements in 2023–2024. The MBA package provided in 2023 increased by more than 8% from 2022 to 2023. 172 companies visited for IIT Roorkee round 1 placement. The second round of IIT Roorkee placements will begin soon.

IITPlacements: Process

All IITs adhere to the detailed IIT placement process listed below for each student.

• With the help of student representatives, the Training & Placement Cell (a distinct unit at each IIT) extends invitations to companies accompanied by pertinent documents and information, such as the Job Announcement Form (JAF) and Placement Brochure.

• A company can also express interest in hiring students by getting in touch with the relevant IITs' T&P Cell. They must email the T&P department at the IITs that interest them.

• T&P Cell will respond to the companies via email following receipt of a completed JAF and pertinent data from them. Based on the data in the JAF, dates are assigned for campus interviews.

• The T&P Cell and the organisations consult to determine an appropriate date for the Pre-Placement Talk (PPT). Students are informed of the PPT date upon notification from the companies.

• Next, the companies visit IIT campuses to conduct the PPT.

• During the placement drive, the companies may choose to offer summer internships to pre-final year students if they are interested.

• Students who are interested can register online with a specific company to submit their resumes or CVs for consideration for a shortlist.

• Before the campus visit for the final interviews, companies email the T&P Cell with the list of students who are shortlisted.

• On the designated dates, the companies come to the campus to make placements and hold group discussions, aptitude tests, technical tests, and personal interviews.

• Following the conclusion of the selection process, the companies provide the final list of selected students either the same day or within a few days.
