A blow to the Lions just before Thanksgiving—Graham Glasgow is officially out. And while fans hoped for a timely return from Frank Ragnow, it looks like his comeback from retirement won’t arrive soon enough to fill the gap in Detroit’s offensive line. But here’s where things get tricky: the injury list is getting longer, and several key starters are in limbo.
Glasgow, who hasn’t missed a single game this season and played every snap in last Sunday’s matchup against the Giants, has now been ruled out for the Lions’ Thanksgiving clash with the Packers due to a knee injury. His absence couldn’t come at a worse time—especially with three other offensive linemen being listed as questionable.
That group includes left tackle Taylor Decker (shoulder), right tackle Penei Sewell (ankle), and right guard Tate Ratledge (knee). If all three are limited or forced to sit, the Lions’ usually formidable front line could find itself in survival mode against Green Bay’s pass rush. And this is the part most fans don’t want to think about: losing multiple starters in the trenches can completely change a game’s rhythm.
On the defensive side, there’s a bit of hope. Cornerback Terrion Arnold (concussion) might return after being tagged as questionable, which would be huge for a secondary that’s been dealing with its share of challenges. Also sitting on the questionable list are edge rusher Marcus Davenport (shoulder), offensive lineman Miles Frazier (knee), wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa (hand), and running back Sione Vaki (toe, ankle).
Unfortunately, the team will have to manage without several others. Safety Kerby Joseph (knee), edge rusher Josh Paschal (back), wide receiver Kalif Raymond (ankle), and tight end Brock Wright (neck) have all been ruled out. And here’s a looming roster dilemma—Paschal’s time on the non-football injury list is about to expire. If the Lions don’t activate him soon, his season could effectively be over.
So, between the injuries, the uncertain returns, and Ragnow’s pending comeback, Detroit heads into Thanksgiving with more questions than answers. Will the depleted offensive line be able to protect Jared Goff and keep the Lions’ playoff momentum alive? Or could this be the week that exposes their depth issues? Share your thoughts—should Detroit push Ragnow’s return sooner, or focus on long-term health over short-term gains?
