Payslip and Tax Sheet Password - HRWorks User Guide (2024)

Payslip / Tax sheet Password

The payslip / tax sheet you receive by way of email or download from HRWorks is password protected, and hence you have to enter the password when you open the PDF file which contains the payslip / tax sheet. Please note that all password-protected PDF documents generated from HRWorks have the same password.

Default password assigned by HRWorks

The password comprises your employee ID/No. in full, followed by your date and month of birth (in DDMM format). The password is case sensitive in case your employee ID/No. is alpha numeric.

Example 1
If your employee ID/No. is1and your date of birth is05-Nov-1980, then your password will be10511.

Example 2
If your employee ID/No. isA-1002and your date of birth is08-Sep-1976, then your password will beA-10020809.

You can create your own password

If you do not wish to use the default password, you can specify your own password for payslip / tax sheet by logging into HRWorks, and entering your password on the “Preferences” screen. The Preferences link is located on top-right, on the screens of HRWorks.

Once you click the Preferences link, you will see a pop-up window. In that window, please see the field called Document Password. You can enter your own password for payslip / tax sheet.

Please note that the password you specify should have between 8 and 16 characters with at least one special character.

Once you specify your own password, the system generated default password (employee ID followed by DDMM in your date of birth) will be overwritten by the password you specify in the Preferences screen and hence will not work.

What if you have forgotten your payslip / tax sheet password?

If you have not created your own password for payslip / tax sheet, please try using your employee ID followed DDMM in your date of birth as the password.

If you remember creating a payslip / tax sheet password earlier and have forgotten the same now, please click the "Preferences" link on the top-right corner of your screen (after you login to HRWorks) and see the "Document Password" field on that window.

Please note that once you specify your own password, the system generated password (your employee ID followed by DDMM in your date of birth) will not work.

What if your payslip / tax sheet password is the system-generated password and it does not work?

Please note that if your employee ID/No. or date of birth is incorrectly entered in HRWorks, you may not be able to open your payslip / tax sheet since the password you enter may not correspond to the employee ID or date of birth information in HRWorks. If your password does not work, please notify us by sending an email to our support mail ID.
