It’s not the content. Some writers believe in delivering high quality, interesting, and relevant content to their viewers. That’s important, but not important enough.

It’s not the image. Visuals attract. That’s a universal rule. Selecting the right images will boost views and reads, but it’s not enough.

It’s not the intro or the conclusion. Introductions draw readers in. Conclusions make them want to come back for more. Both are significant factors to success, but they’re not enough.

It’s the title.

American-Canadian author Robert Munsch once said:

“The title is one of the most important things. It is the first thing that people read.” ¹

It doesn’t matter if you have a killer ending or some sort of breakthrough in your article. If your title doesn’t attract, no one will see it. In truth, a great title is all you need for views. This is why clickbait is so effective. (though I don’t recommend it unless you want your reputation tarnished).

Videos, posts, novels, short stores, articles; titles are equally significant for any type of content. Therefore, when writing, I always make the title my priority.

But this is where the problem comes in

What makes a title attractive? How do you write a great title? What is the right title for your article?

Every attention grabbing title must complete three objectives:

• Foreshadow the topic or Make the viewer wonder
• Give the viewer a reason to click on your content
• Stand out from other titles

When someone reads your title, you want them to start asking questions. Your title should say “I have the answer to those questions.”
