Previous experience in civil construction works and supervision or inspection of roadworks

Monitor the review of the contractor’s documents/shop drawings to flag and rectify any issues which may affect the stability or function of any components or systems

Preparing daily logs and reports

Monitoring and ensuring that all civil/structural engineering aspects of the project are carried out as per inspection plan/drawings/codes and specifications

Monitor safety aspects when dealing with Civil/structural installations

Perform and or evaluate tests confirming quality requirements, civil/structural finishes and building components by conducting thorough site inspection for all civil/structural works as per approved shop drawings, specifications and method statement

Field checks placement, location and quality of civil/structural finishes, building structure components

Perform civil/structural inspections and material inspections

Ensure compliance of civil/structural l works to design requirements, specifications and project plan

Must be able to read and interpret construction documents, submittals, RFI’s and change order documents

Must be able to prepare reports and meeting minutes and update construction record documents

Experience in the use of various softwares including Microsoft Office products and other PM Software is required

Ability to work in a fast paced environment and in a field office on the jobsite

Ability climb ladders and work in rough terrain is required

Ability to acquire federal security clearance is required

Responsibilities for civil inspector

• Inspects construction of and landscape improvements
• Performs administrative tasks associated with the administering of private landscape maintenance contracts, privately constructed landscape improvements
• Reviews, corrects, and ensures completeness of landscape plan submittals and as-built plans
• Maintains records of inspection work
• Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Project Engineer (PE)
• Prepare daily report to the RE or the PE
• Follow up and implement any site instructions made by the RE and PE
• Prepare any site measurements and surveying checks needed by the RE or PE for pipes alignments and levels
• Co-ordinate and co-operate with ADSSC staff during their site inspections in the presence of the RE or ARE
• Assist the ARE and RE in the preparation of any correspondences in compliance with the contract documents

Qualifications for civil inspector

• All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements preferred
• Some knowledge of construction including materials, methods, plans and specifications
• Must be a self-starter, be organized, have good interpersonal skills and time management skills
• Must have a P.Eng or C.E.T
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a heavy civil/quality control construction field
• Ideally from a nuclear, power, or a heavy civils background

• Ensures conformance to quality, performance, safety and/or code requirements
• Civil/structural knowledge to include
• Physically located at the project site as an extension of the PMCM team and will coordinate with the owners staff and tenants as required for for this large federal campus project
• Experienced in international standards and specifications related to civil/structural finishes
• Expert in QC roles
• Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30 training certification

• Intermediate or expert computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email the basic or intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
• Degree/Diploma in related field with min 5-7 years’ experience in Landscape out of which 2-3 years in the UAE
• Minimum 10 years of experience within similar projects
• Middle East experience is essential and experience in Bahrain will be preferred

• Combination of education, training, and experience to gain knowledge, skills and abilities generally equivalent to those possessed by a high school graduate
• Demonstrated experience with utility underground construction practices, specifications and requirements, including the Underground Structures (UGS) Manual, GO128 and related industry standards
• Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and collaborate with internal and external personnel
• Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision-making, team-building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovations
• A combination of education and directly related experience equal to seven (7) years
• Experience on major Buildings projects- Experience in 5* hotel, high end villas/High Rise Buildings/Malls (Major projects in the UAE)

• Operate sophisticated survey equipment such as theodites, EDM's and

• OSHA-10 or higher safety training certification desired
• Ability to comprehend all construction documents, including blueprints and drawings
• Ability to relocate approximately every 9-18 months
• Four (4) years of experience or any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to four years of full-time employment in paraprofessional engineering or the construction trades involving responsibility for designing, surveying, materials testing, construction, drafting, and/or review development projects
