There's actually logic behind searching for candidates from IIMs. First, the stringent criteria of entry ensures that only impeccably worthy candidates get entry to such colleges. Second, the extraordinarily competitive environment at such places leave you with no choice but to toil to find your place. Third, given the fact that these candidates from IIMs and other premiere schools have already proved their mettle by getting entry into such colleges it's highly likely that they would continue to perform impeccably in their professional journey. Having said that, it doesn't mean that non-IIM or other school candidates are worthless. It's just that the probability of finding requisite high performing candidates are more at premier schools. Harvard, MIT, Kellogg etc. by no mean stand only for pedigree!
